Fuzzy analogue aesthetics and FM synthesised wooziness combined in a viscerally playful abstract sound, tinged with otherness and a trace of longing. Based in rural Norfolk, Hoofus writes and performs electronic music using synthesizers, an old drum machine and a handful of pedals. With a strong belief in spontaneity and emergence, all Hoofus performances are improvised. Previous gigs include shows with Max Tundra, Sculpture, Team Doyobi, Knifehandchop, Why? and Subtle, as well as performances at the Faster than Sound Festival, Brighton Komedia, The Adelphi in Hull, Aurora Festival, Club Ponderosa, Encompass Festival, Sonic Arts Network Soundcircus, the Dublin Conservatoire and Norwich Arts Centre. Hoofus has featured on two split singles, both of were played on BBC Radio One, and has also performed a live session on Resonance FM. His debut album received airplay on Resonance FM and BBC Radio's On The Wire show. Click here to read a review of 'Something, Something'. |
